VOL. XV, NO. 12
The Maine West Warrior golf team has encountered a lot of competition in the last week. On April 23 the Warriors played in a triangular meet along with Highland Park and Deerfield.
Highland Park, playing on their home course, finished last, while Deerfield and Maine finished one‑two respectively. Then on April 26 the stickmen took part in another triangular meet involving Niles East and Glenbrook North. In this meet Maine West ended up shooting a school record of 156. But the happy score faded, when Niles East finished first with 151, and Glenbrook North second with a score of 153.
The next day the Warriors ran into some more bad luck as they were defeated by Glenbrook South. South came into the clubhouse with their school record of 148, leaving Maine behind with a score of 159.
The bright spot of the week was a tenth place finish out of 31 schools in the Conant Invitational.
