Siska Leads Trackmen
In Romp Over Trojans
"We're going nuts," was how Coach Ron Brown explained the trackmen's outstanding success in the past few meets. Senior Mark Siska has performed magnificently in the past few meets and scored 20 points in the Prospect Relays held on April 26. Bill Klippert '74 is keeping up his usual pace in track and currently is number one in the district. Klippert is a member of the mile relay team that is currently the third best in the state. The other members are seniors Greg Klebe, Kevin Skahan, and Rich Pawelko. The past few meets have also been highly rewarding for Dave Braun '74. In the Prospect Relays he jumped the long jump for a personal high of 21' and 3/4".

On April 23 a great deal of the Warriors' organized insanity was present. The team destroyed Niles East 117-23, and Siska captured four first place finishes, two individually and two in relays. Coach Brown was understandably ecstatic over Siska's antics and said, "Siska was just unbelievable today.
Considering he has not run these events until this year, he has done a super job. He ran a 10.2 100-yard dash on a lousy track in cold weather. He might have broken 10-flat on a better track. He looked good enough to win conference today."

The entire Warrior machine was well-oiled that day as Kevin Skahan won the 440, followed by Klebe and Klippert. In the mile Klebe took first and Paul Mademann '75 and Joe Andrew '74 finished second and third. Senior Rich Reynolds and juniors Gary Brenner and Joe Paul finished 1-2-3 in the two-mile. In the shot-put and discus Jeff Keister '74 took home first place finishes, while Dave Braun and Joe Farrel '76 finished first and third respectively in the high hurdles. Farrel was preceded in the low hurdles by Braun and Bill Wadman '75, who captured first.
