The Bike‑a‑thon will be sponsored by the health education teachers of Maine West and Maine North, with the cooperation of the local Kiwanis Club. Free Coke will be provided at both stops.
There will be four prizes awarded to the students collecting the most money. They include: first prize, a $1,000 juke box; second prize, a $100 savings bond; third prize, a $50 savings bond; and fourth prize, a $25 savings bond.

There will also be prizes given to the riders obtaining the most mileage. They are a gold medal, a silver medal, and a bronze medal for first, second and third places, respectively.

Students wishing to participate in the Bike‑a‑thon can get sponsor slips in the Student Council office.
