Weather Interferes With Ball Games
The diamondmen are still waiting for and trying to find the elusive big hit. Three of the team's past four games have ended in defeat for the Warriors; and two of those games were heartbreakers, lost by one run. At present the team is hoping that the weatherman would give them a little cooperation, so they could start their much washed out tournament.

At Highland Park on April 28 the team did play and probably wish they didn't. In the first inning of the game Jeff Schwarz '74 tripled with two outs but was left stranded. In the second infling senior John O'Connor '74 doubled with one gone and stole third but was left standing there when the inning ended. The Warriors finally got on the scoreboard with 2 in the fifth. The runs scored on a pinch hit single by Dan Myska '74. Highland Park, however, scored three times in the fifth and won the game.
Jay Ligget '74 got in a pitcher's duel with Glenbrook North and came out on the short end of the stick. Ligget lost the game 2-1 and drove in Maine's only run on a fielder's choice in the second.

On May 3 at Maine East the Warriors came around and won a 5-4 decision against Maine East. Maine scored early with a one out single in the first driving in a run. Maine added two more runs in the fifth on singles by Rich Slapke '75 and Mike Kelley '75. Two much needed insurance runs scored in the sixth. In Maine East's sixth two runs scored without benefit of a hit.

The Warriors could only muster two hits against Deerfield: a double by Frank Vaia, and a triple by Mike Kelley. The final score was 2‑0.
