VOL. XV, NO. 14
Doug Myers, elected by his teammates as the most valuable player of the 1973-74 Maine West basketball team, is this year's pick as the outstanding senior basketball player of the past season. Standing 6'8" and weighing 200 pounds, he joined the varsity squad midway through his sophomore year and has been a starter ever since.
While leading the team with averages of 18 points and 12 rebounds per game, Doug gained recognition by making the Central Suburban League's All‑Conference squad while earning an honorable mention in the All‑State selections. Among several colleges which have been trying to recruit him, Doug has chosen William and Mary College, from whom he has received a full athletic scholarship.
Another honor, as announced recently by Coach and Athlete Magazine, is Doug's selection to the Prep All-American Basketball Yearbook for 1973-74. This selection makes him eligible for the Prep 100 Squad, Super Ten Team, and Cum Laude.
