Quad Council Sets Goals for Year
Established in December of 1972, Quad Council is an organization consisting of 21 representatives from all four of the Maine Township High Schools. Its objective is to promote unity on district‑wide problems.

This year's first meeting of Quad Council was held Tuesday, October 16. Maine West's representatives include: Pete Far'74, and Beth English '77. This Dennis '75, Terry Weizmann '75, and Beth English '77. This year's alternate is Jo Brown '77. Quad Council meets the first Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m. Meeting places rotate among the four schools.
Some of the goals of this year's Quad Council are a) to abolish semester exams for students with a four point average in that particular course, b) to permit paid advertisements in the school newspaper and other publications, c) to permit girls to be excused from gym if they are in an active sports, d) to allow the purchasing of class rings within the school, and e) to allow the library to remain open to give students an opportunity to study for semester exams.
