Safety Ideas Could Bring Big Money
All seniors who are interested are eligible to win a $500 Chicago Motor Club scholarship. To win the scholarship you must write an essay of 500 words or less.
The essay is for the Illinois Editors' Traffic Safety Seminar's eighth annual traffic safety essay contest. The topic is "My Program for Improving Traffic Safety in Illinois."
Ten winners will be selected by the University of Illinois educators. Five boys and five girls will be chosen, each receiving $500. For 25 runners‑up there will be issued, by the Chicago Motor Club, $25 U.S. Savings Bonds.
The winners will be announced at the Seminar's seventeenth annual meeting, May 17, 1974, in Champaign. The essay contest has been endorsed by Dr.
Michael J. Bakalis, Illinois superintendent of public instruction.
Anyone interested may see Mr. George Walker in R-210 for an entry blank. Send the entry blank with the essay to Seminar Headquarters, 66 E. South Water Street, Chicago, Illinois 60601. The postmark must be dated no later than December 31, 1973. No essay will be accepted after that date.
