Students Honored
Fourteen Maine West seniors have received Letters of Commendation honoring them for their high performance on the 1973 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Those seniors are Peter Farmer, Sharon Mesker, Daniel Bunce, Douglas Peterson, Barbara Swain, Carol Ritzma, Scott Johnson, Sharon Mertz, Lester Nelson, Dale Nickels, Claire Robinson, Wayne Stevens, Chris Moberg, and Reid Trimble.
The letters have been sent by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The Corporation has named 38,000 commended students in the United States.
New Orchesis Members
New beginner Orchesis members were chosen on Thursday, October 18, after three days of clinics. Those selected were Mary Rossi '75, Lee Kuhlman '77, Kathy Kob '76. Paulette Loch '76, Cathy Lauler '76, Laura Ballauer '75, Vanessa Dunavant '77, Jeanne Lombardo '77, and Linda Sherman '77.
Others are Julie Volberding '77, Cathy Olsen '77, Beth English '77, Nancy Haase '77, Donna Seranno '77, Mary Calabrese '77, Sandy Kornfeind '77, and Janet Seitz '77.

Fall Sports Awards Night
This year's Fall Sports Awards Night has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 13. The purpose of this awards night is to recognize outstanding athletes in cross country, football, and soccer. It will be held in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
