Rackettes, Send Two Downstate
The girls' tennis team, the Rackettes, ended their season at the state tournament on October 27. They had a record of three wins and five losses and tied with Maine South for fifth in their division.

In the conference meet on October 20, Karen Batey '75 and Karen Neetz '74 were eliminated in the first round by New Trier West. Kim Tuttle '74 and Monica Polacek '74 went to the state tournament for their second consecutive year. Unfortunately, they lost in the first round.
The girls' coach, Miss Barbara Jones, felt that the girls had a successful season. When asked her opinion of the season, Miss Jones replied, "Even though the girls did not have a winning season, the girls played very well, and Kim and Monica deserve special recognition for making it to the state tournament two years in a row."
