VOL. XV, NO. 4
Student Sojourns Offered in April
Touring, sampling other cultures, partaking in new experiences, and a chance for foreign travel is being offered to interested students by the Maine West Language Department.
The trip to France will be sponsored and guided by Ms. Rachel Skalinder, a Maine West French teacher. The cost of the trip will be $560. Paris, the French Riviera, Nice, Morocco, and San Remo will be some of the places the students shall tour. Ms. Skalinder feels that the trip will expose the students to the true lifestyle and customs of the French.
The German trip will cost $529. Mr. Joel Geils, a German teacher, is the chaperone of the trip. The tour of the country will take in the sites of Luxembourg, Heidelberg, Munich, Metz. and Boppard. In addition to this, the students will take a cruise on the Rhine river.
The travelers will also visit the Black Forest and the world of Mad King Ludwing.
Both trips will be held during April. The trip to France will last from April 12-21, and the German trip will last from April 12-20. Both will leave from O'Hare and stop over in New York before crossing the ocean. The Germany-bound students will make a short stop in Iceland where they can explore the many souvenir shops before continuing to Luxembourg.
