Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor:
I would just like to point out to the students in this school who aren't in any clubs that they're missing a lot. Students should join a club which interests them and that they think they will enjoy. We have a lot of clubs at Maine West; surely there's something for everyone.

Clubs can provide an interesting view of the world through field trips, debates, and discussions. They can make your time more valuable and provide an experience you can tell your classmates about. Clubs are not only an interesting way to spend your time, but it's really a fantastic way to make new friends and meet new people.

Clubs provide a background education that is important, often, to the success of your life. Communication with friends is important in that each new piece of information has its importance to your life.

But if you're more interested in the present. then the club improves upon the teacher and student relationship. I feel very lucky to have the chance to be in clubs and to know the experience. I wish everyone would get involved.

Dear Editor:
This past summer my family and I moved to California. Just recently I received a school newspaper (Vol. XV, No. 2). I can't tell you how pleased I was to get it. It was a very good issue and I enjoyed reading it. Please keep up the good work!

Tony Cabello

P.S. Congratulations to the cross country team!

Dear Editor:
Quite often when I walk down the school corridors with my friends. I sometimes happen to hear, "Hey, did you see so and so marching in those ridiculous uniforms last night at the game?" Well, first of all, the uniforms happen to be a very good form of representation.

The band is like a means of hope for the team if it is losing and cheering section if they're winning. I'm not trying to say that everyone should go our right now and buy an instrument, but to put the band down like some people do is really uncalled for. I feel that if a person thinks he has the right to put something down that badly, he should have a very logical and factual reason supporting it or let silence prevail.
