For Girls' Volleyball
The girls' volleyball team began its season yesterday at Niles North. They will play again today, hosting New Trier West. Two more home games will follow in a few weeks: December 12 against Deerfield and December 19 against Niles West. Varsity members this year are Karen Batey '75; Maureen Brock '75; Jenny Bruns '76: Evelyn Johnson '73: Karen Kiester '76: Irene Polacek '77; Monica Polacek '74; Kathy Shuttleworth '75; and Kim Tuttle '74.
This year's junior varsity team members are Pat Bouman '75; Robin Downing '76; Barb Klein '77; Jane Krauser '76; Pam Linke '75; Sue Linke '77; Liz Makuch '76; Kathy Monahun '77; and Arlene Mundt '76.
On February 1 and 2 the team will compete in the all school (including suburban and Chicago schools) Chicago volleyball invitational.
Ms. Royleen Tipton commented on her team by saying, "I think we have an exceptional, hard‑working group of girls; and it's a pleasure to work with them."
