Students To Study Abroad
Three Maine West students have been selected to study in a foreign country during the next school year. The students are Barbara Andraski '75, Margo Bleharski '75, and Steve Schaefle '75.
The students were selected after passing the regional screening for the 1974-75 American Abroad program.
Humanities Field Trip
The Maine West Humanities class recently went to the Oriental Institute in Chicago and to the Lyric Opera House for a field trip. At the Oriental Institute the students studied artifacts from ancient Mesopotamian and Egypt.
At the Lyric Opera House, the students were entertained by the opera, Carmen.
Ski Club Trip Planned
Ski Club is planning a two day ski trip to Boyne Highlands, Boyne Falls, Michigan. Departure will be on Friday, January 25, at 1 p.m. from Maine West.
Only members of the Maine West Ski Club will be permitted to participate on this trip. Reservations will be on a first come first served basis to the first 40 students. Payment in full will be required by January 18, 1974.
Referendum Goes Through
On Saturday, December 8, the $6.5 million referendum to complete Maine North High School was passed. The referendum was passed by a large margin: 3,212 for, and 1,410 against.
