Girls Find Play Is Exciting Experience
The cast has been selected for this year's Thespian play, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds, directed by Mr. Robert Norris. The cast includes Betsy Forkins '76 as Tillie, Mary Jo Zalabak '76 as the mother Beatrice, Kathy Stephensen '74 as Ruth, Lorrie Swanson '75 as Nanny, and Luanne Wallin '76 as Janice Vickery.

Practice for the play was begun the first week after Christmas vacation. The play will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 14, 15, and 16.
Tickets will be available from Thespian Club and speech team members and at the bookstore the last week in January and in February. It was suggested that tickets be bought early since only 200 tickets will be sold for each night and may not be available at the door.

The cast feels that the play is progressing well and is an intriguing experience. Jo Zalabak says, "It's a very intense play, but it's fun." It was said to be very difficult to act. Nanny was said to be the hardest part to play.

Lorrie Swanson said this of her role, "It's a hard part to play because I don't have any lines, but I'm on stage a lot and have to portray my character with facial expressions and noises."
