VOL. XV, NO. 6
By BOB LIMBRICK
Once when only the trees were tall
Man was afraid of the dark.
Once when only the bird could fly,
And the rivers were clear,
And the star was seen at dawn,
Man was afraid of the dark.
Once when suddenly lightning struck,
And the branches burned,
And the fire Dispelled the dark,
An idea Occurred.
And the darkness was met
With the brilliance of natural light;
Now, no longer are trees so tall,
And man is afraid of the dark.
