Gymnasts Subdue Proviso East,
New Trier West, Lose to N.E.
The gymnastics team's winning streak ended last Saturday by losing to league‑leading Niles East, 125.97 to 91.37. The gymnasts only managed to place one first, with Marc Schludt '74 scoring a 6.4 on the trampoline. High scorers on the team were

Marc Schludt 7.7 on floor exercise; Neil Sosdian '75, 4.25 on horse; Steve Taylor '74, 6.85 on horizontal bar; Mike Swiatek '75, 4.95 on parallel bars and again with a 4.55 on rings.

In their last two meets, however, the Warriors were victori­ous. On December 21 they defeated New Trier West, 96.67 to 89.88. Individual highs were Ken Heller '74, a 7.2 on trampoline; Marc Schludt, 8.05 on floor exercise; Steve Taylor, 7.45 on high bar; and Ken Heller, 5.85 on parallel bars. The three‑man floor exercise team scored a 20.65, with Pat Dent '76 scoring a 6.2, Kevin Henderson '74 scoring a 6.4, and Marc Schludt scoring 8.05. At Proviso East, the Warriors were easily victorious 86.73 to 59.81. Coach Sidney Drain has high hopes for the team. He said, "After the semester we hope to break 100."
The freshman team is coming along but still have only a 1 and 6 record. They were defeated by New Trier West, 36 to 20, by Proviso East, 31 to 30, I and by Niles East, 48.5 to 36.92.

Coach Rich Shelhamer said, "We feel fortunate that all freshmen have been able to compete since we have no sophomore team this year. We're looking forward to finishing the year on a positive note." There are only three meets left in January: Niles West here on January 18, Wheeling at home on January 19, and Niles North on January 25.
