Tankmen Victimize Proviso East
The varsity tankmen are hallway through their 1974 campaign and have a 3-4 record. After winning consecutive meets over Prospect, 93-78, and Maine North, 113-57, the Warriors were capsized by a powerful New Trier West team, losing by more than 70 points, 123-39.

This loss evidently upset our side, for Deerfield defeated them in their next meet, 132-37. The Warriors, however, got back on the winning track with a comfortable 53-29 victory against Proviso East.

Coach Darrel Green said of the team, "We are young and short on experience, but are steadily improving. And that is the name of the game."

The sophomores, also under the direction of Mr. Green, are presently one game over .500 with a 4-3 record. In recent action against Proviso East, the team won, 59-24. Against the Norsemen of Maine North, the team won by forfeit.
Prospect was the next victim on the sophomores' schedule, and they swam away with a 120-47 victory- New Trier West, however, ended their unbeaten streak and dealt them a 95-58 loss. The sophomores then lost an 85-83 heartbreaker to Deerfield.

Coach Green said that the sophomores are having a good season so far, but that the loss to Deerfield was a bitter disappointment and that they should have been victorious in that game. He said that the team's goal is to win the rest of their meets, which would give them a 9-3 record.

The freshmen, who are being coached by Mr. James Borowski, have established a 4-1 record in this year's competition.
