'Guys and Dolls' Starts To Roll
The cast has been chosen and rehearsals are well underway for Maine West's musical production, Guys and Dolls. The musical will be held March 21, 22, and 23.
Some of the leads have been double‑cast. The students that have been chosen for leads are Carol Pazdioch '74 and Sue Spiegler '74 as Sarah Brown, Carol Kent '75 and Kathy La Pointe '74 as Miss Adelaide, Tom Sandri '74 as Sky Masterson, Norb Bartosiak '74 as Nicely Nicely Johnson, and Bob Limbrick '74 as Nathan Detroit.
The faculty is also hard at work. Mr. Mark Mattson has designed the sets, and Mr. Robert Pelikan is directing the construction of them. Mr. Francis Vaupel is directing the orchestra. Mr. Ronald Mills is directing the rehearsals. Mr. Robert Kuite is in charge of the overall production. Mr. George Blanas is in charge of costumes, and Mr. Paul Magnusson heads publicity.
The cast had many different reactions when asked how they felt when they received their roles. Carol Kent said, "I was so surprised when I got the part. Rehearsals are fun because the cast is so nice and so much fun." Bob Limbrick commented, "It's the first time I've ever had a big role, but I'll work hard."
There are going to be many exciting and surprising publicity stunts in preparation for the upcoming production.
