Cut Down
Please Yourself And Others
By JANET TEEVANS
The true meaning of a diet as defined in a very authoritative dictionary is a way of limiting food and drink for health or to gain or lose weight.
This is the way a diet usually works, but most teenagers who are overweight get the wrong idea and eat nothing at all. The symptoms from this type of dieting can range from a simple noise in your stomach to an extremely severe headache.
When you're overweight, the first idea you get is to end eating permanently or just eating one piece of food or fruit all day.
The proper way to diet usually is different from one person to another, but the best way is to simply consult your physician and in the meantime discontinue indulging yourself at meals and just eat a few pieces of food from your four basic food groups and nothing more. This way you will still be getting enough nourishment but also begin to lose weight at the same time. The reason why this process of losing weight is so successful is because most of the weight which we accumulate is from foods containing fatty ingredients such as: potato chips, nuts, cookies, cakes, and candy, etc. We eat most of these snacks just out of pure habit.
If you follow a simple diet such as just eating your three basic meals a day and any other advice your physician may suggest, you may be surprised at the amazing results which you acquire. Your stomach will decrease in size because all of those extra snacks will not be increasing its size. That way you will want less to eat. Also you really will not be suffering, because you will still be having exactly the same meals you usually have, but at the same time you will be cutting out unnecessary calories.
Watching the way you eat may not be a whole lot of fun and you may not enjoy it at first. But when you start getting favorable results that are pleasant to you and everyone around you, it will be nicer to face the world with a smile and a healthy looking body than to have a frown and stay away from others who shout with laughter when you walk by.
