VOL. XV, NO. 8
Annual Turnabout Dance
To Feature Girls' Dates
The Girls' Choice Dance for 1974 is on Saturday, March 2. The dance will be held in the auditorium. Decorations will consist of streamers, balloons, and confetti of pastel colors. Refreshments will be served.
To the girl who has her eyes on a certain someone, it means a chance to ask him out and not get laughed at. To the girl who always has a date, it means she has to worry about whom to ask. To some it is just another dance sponsored by Student Council.
Girls' Choice Dance lets the girls see what the boys go through for the dances and proms. It's the girl's turn to worry about the restaurant, the transportation, the ticket, the bill, etc. The boys also have a switched role for the evening. They must remember to pick the least expensive meal on the menu, to worry if their dates bought the tickets yet, and most of all they have to make sure their parents say the right thing when they meet his date.
A lot of good can come out of the Girls' Choice Dance. For one thing, everyone is bound to have a good time. There will be dancing with music provided by "Brotherhood Mountain." The group plays a wide variety of music.
The dance begins at 8:30 and ends at 11 p.m. That means there is plenty of time to go out to dinner before or after the dance.
This year's Girls' Choice is entitled, "You've Got a Friend." The Social Committee of Student Council has been working hard to make the evening a success.
Terese Weiszmann '74, chairman of the committee, said, "I really hope that a lot of people come because the dances are really fun, and it is a good time to get together."
Tickets are being sold in the bookstore for $2.50 a couple. Attire should be semi-formal.
