If You Don't Do It, It Won't Get Done
Within a few months spring will be here and already many students are experiencing the annual "Third Quarter Slump." In general, the feeling of apathy has taken over not only Maine West but the country as a whole.
People just don't care. Many Americans gripe in private; but when it comes to putting those gripes into constructive criticism, they become apathetic. The same is true of students here at Maine West.
Every day kids go down the halls griping about something or other. They don't like the way the administration does things; but what do they do about those gripes turn them into constructive criticism? You've got to be kidding!
Letters from students, teachers, parents, or for that matter the school administration have not exactly poured into the Westerner office. In fact, there has not even been a slow trickle. It seems that while everyone gripes no one wants to share their gripes.
People who do write often omit their names, an act that is nothing but cowardice. To those of you who have a complaint, send your letters to R-210 or give them to a Westerner staff member.
After all, our school is only as good as the people in it. If you have a gripe, share it. Who knows? Something good may come of it. It doesn't cost anything to try.
