Once Long Ago
By KATHY LA POINTE

Once long ago it was special
Then, long ago they were friends
Laughter, sadness, and trust were their holders
There were mountains to climb and problems to mend

Soon sometime after it was gone
The laughter, sadness, and trust
Something came that drove them apart
A memory now of dust

Both in their own worlds now
They easily forget the past
Oh what it meant to them then
And now just a frame at last

Now as they see each other
There is nothing to say
Only to look past each other and forget
And I wonder as I watch

And I laugh as I think
Was it ever worth the time... to first say
HELLO.
