Explore, Discover Wonders of Life
By JAYNE WRIGHT

Even though everyone is feeling the inconvenience and obvious frustration caused by the energy crisis, there are still some comforts no crisis can ever take away - the bright lights of musIc and poetry and the warmth of friendship.

One of the least expensive forms of enjoyment is music. Music offers many ways of looking at the world. Solitude, darkness, and silence are precious; but music and rhythm lighten a difficult day and lifts the spirit.

Anyone who has ever read and really understood a poem or written one can possibly become aware of many things around him he had never noticed before. Poetry can help a person understand himself and his world.

Friendship is the warm and close feeling everyone must share with someone. No matter how cold the weather or the extent of a gas shortage, there is no limit to the possibilities of friendship. Many times love grows out of such a situation.
When there are so many overlooked pleasures in the world waiting to be discovered and "free" to anyone who reaches out, why is there so much agony and frustrations in the world?

While lying in bed at night thinking about how cold the house is and trying to be convinced that it is a good thing to turn down the thermostat for the country, try to imagine living at the North Pole or possible even try to appreciate that warm, wooly blanket someone somewhere else might not have.

Too many people go through their lives believing that the most important things are those that can be bought. Obviously it is vital to have a place to live and food to eat, but the most valuable things are those right within easy reach. It is necessary, especially in this day and age, to realize that money can't buy happiness. It can't buy love, and it can't buy self‑expression. The real wonder of life has to be explored and discovered by each individual in his own way at the right time.
