West Bucketmen Split Pair
The varsity cagers have split their last two contests, falling at the hands of the Deerfield Warriors, 57-52, while in the game previous to Deerfield, the Warriors beat Niles North in a home game, 63-56.

The cagers' overall record is now 6-14, with a conference mark of 4-7. The last regular season away game will come tonight at Niles West. The last scheduled home game will be on March 1 against the Niles East Spartans.

An all out effort was given by the Warriors in their battle against the tough Deerfield Warriors. A fast paced first half was executed by the Warriors of Maine West. After two quarters West had a 26-21 lead.
Going into the third quarter Maine West's pace slowed rapidly, while Deerfield took advantage of the much fatigued Warrior squad. Consistency kept the game in reach with Bill Makuch '75 shooting 7 for 9 from the field.

Deerfield was not to be denied, as Randy Morris scored eight of his 10‑point total in the final quarter, dominating over a late Maine West rally. The attack was led by Doug Myers '74, who was the Warriors' high point man with 21.

After the regular season Maine West will take part in the annual regional tournament, starting with Maine North, whom the Warriors knocked off earlier this year.
