Remedies Cool Spring Fever
Morning, and two country children set out for school. But suddenly the two discover the growing baby sun and the breathy air. They calmly pass the school house and walk to a pond deep in the forest.
They daydream day into night and sleep until Big Mama stomps through the forest. Angry at first, Big Mama cools when she finds her children. She knows they have spring fever and merely need some tonic.
Less than a century ago winter's death naturally meant spring fever's mysterious birth. Spring fever sufferers were tinusually lazy, restless, and prone to commit odd acts.
Actually spring fever resulted from inadequate food preservation and distribution methods. People's winter diets lacked fresh foods, so by spring they were listless from vitamin deficiencies.
Yet even today our blood seems to freeze as the snow melts. Next time you think you have the fever you might try these remedies. 1. Eat rhubarb once a week. 2. Eat sulphur mixed with molasses. 3. Go back into hibernation.
