VOL. XVI, NO. 1
September is sign up time for high school students interested in joining Junior Achievement. There is still time to join if you did not get a chance to when J.A. representatives were visiting Maine West.
J.A. will be opening their doors the week of October 7.
J.A. is a chance to get together with students from our school and others, in groups of 15 to 20, to form, operate, and manage your own business.
J.A. companies meet for two hours a week, one night a week at J.A. Business Centers or in the plants of Chicago area businesses that serve as counseling firms.
You elect your own officers and raise capital through the sale of dollar‑per‑share stock to get started. You make a product or provide a service; you sell and keep records of expenses, salaries, rent, and taxes.
J.A. combines fun with learning, since achievers get together for rap sessions, dances, picnics, and conferences as well.
