Strong Defensive Efforts
Highlight Soccer Victories
Combining several factors to produce desired results, Coach David Winter's varsity soccer squad has come through with four wins and a tie in its first five games. Tonight's home contest against Maine East's Demons will be a rare night game, starting at 6:30.

Following this encounter the Warriors have only one home game remaining, an October I battle against Niles West. The team will then take to the road for' the rest- of the schedule, with conference playoffs starting on October 18 at Maine East.
Thus far this season the Warriors have produced wins over Highland Park, 2-0, Lake Park, 2-0, Quigley South, 2-1, and Maine North, 2-1, and a tie with Oak Park, 1-1. West's leading goal producers going into tonight's game have been Pete Solarz '75 and Tor Johnsen '75, who have each scored three times.

The success of this year's team can be attributed to several factors, perhaps the most important of which is a good number of returning players with previous varsity experience. Among these are Mark Grzebieniak '75, Mike Kelly '75, Bill Georgepoulos '75, John Whipple '75, Solarz, and Norm Hillner '75, an All‑Conference selection last season.
