Were you ever thrilled by the celestial, water formations in old Esther Wiffiams' movies? How about the graceful silhouettes of dancers as they leap across a dark stage? If you have, then perhaps getting involved with Aquiana and Orchesis is in your department.

At this time Aquiana is busy rehearsing its water show, "It's a Hit," to be performed April 10, 11, and 12, at 8 p.m. in the pool. "It's Hit" features swim routines based around many popular tunes, such as "Pink Panther," "Midnight Cowboy," and "Eleanor Rigby."

"Aquiana is a form of water dance," explained vice‑president Kristie Brogums '76. "We try to achieve perfect timing and synchronization in swimming."

Aquiana, sponsored by Ms. Terry Milam, has 27 members who are all skilled swimmers and are divided into two groups, beginning Aquiana and regular. In the fall Aquiana holds its tryouts, and its new members then report several days a week to the pool for the rest of the year. "We work on endurance mostly," stated Kristie, "by doing underwater lengths. It's hard work but a lot of fun."
"Expressions Unlimited" is this year's Orchesis show that premieres on April 25 and 26. Members are rehearsing in the C‑wing gyms after school, practicing those last few graceful bounds and leaps before the girls move up to the auditorium.

Orchesis is an organization that dedicates itself to teaching all the newest forms of expression in dance. Each fall dance clinics are held for three days, before the tryouts, where each girl auditions and is judged fairly by the Orchesis officers and Mrs. Susan Gelz, sponsor. For the first time in many years, there is no beginning Orchesis which was abolished.

So far this year Orchesis has held a candy sale, the proceeds of which will go toward buying all those tights and things for their upcoming production (let's hope the girls dance off those delicious candy bars before showtime), "Expressions Unlimited."

If you are gifted with an over‑abundance of coordination and grace, do not fear, there is a place for you in Orchesis and Aquiana.
