Baccalaureate Vote Passes
Senior Class Council announces that this year there will be a Baccalaureate service. Students and parents were asked to vote whether or not to have one. The vote had to pass a 30 per cent margin - it passed by a 31 per cent margin.
Despite the huge amount of snow we received last week, the Ski Club brought its greatest season yet to a formal close. The annual banquet was held at the Scanda House in Mt. Prospect on Tuesday, April 8. The club feasted on the wide variety of foods, and awards were given at the end of the evening.
Laurie Wojak '78 received the "sad skier" award, and Kim Wilcox '78 received the award for the best freshman skier.
The weather also forced a postponement of this year's Gymnastics Club presentation of Nostalgym. The show was presented last Sunday at 2 p.m. with a wide variety of talent being displayed.
The presentation consisted of routines in vaulting, tumbling, trampoline, and floor exercise. Both individuals and groups Selected their own music for each act they performed.
The afternoon was highlighted by a moving demonstration of "Tableau," which involves the telling of patriotism with the performers acting as statues.
Aquiana will present this year's show, "It's a Hit," again tonight at 8 p.m. in the pool. This year's show will include 16 acts using soundtracks taken from popular plays and movies.
The ticket sales have been good for the three shows this year. The performance will be repeated tomorrow, April 12, with show time at 8 p.m.
The girls have been working extremely hard after school for this annual presentation. and they hope to entertain a large number of spectators.
