VOL. XVI, NO. 11
Plans are under way for this year's annual May Festival, which will be held on May 1, and possibly May 2, depending on the outcome of a meeting held among the Art Department staff. The exhibits for this year's show will derive from student work in Art I, II, III, and IV, Photography I and II, and the sketching classes. The Industrial Arts Department will also display the many beautiful pieces that were created in their classes this year.
The art show will be open to the English, art, and industrial arts classes, a custom that has been very successful in previous years. Last year junior high students were bussed in to visit the show, and this year the Art Department hopes to bus in Des Plaines senior citizens.
"The festival has always been very successful in the past, and we have had good response from the students and community," stated Mr. Eugene Patrizi, referring to the many excellent comments and suggestions from last year's patrons.
The display does not only occupy the Herman L. Rider Memorial Gymnasium but the display cases and art rooms as well, and is open in the evening to the community.
