Did you know Mr. Victor Giovannini, chairman of Driver Education and 1974-75 chairman of the Maine West Crusade of Mercy Drive has been chosen a director of next year's city wide Des Plaines Crusade of Mercy Drive? He reported the West staff contributed a total of $1,675 compared to the $600 collected last year.

Did you know the LRC is providing Maine West with another service with the addition of 12 calculators to the library's wet carrel area? The calculators are being used by both math and science students as well as teachers figuring out grade averages.

Did you know the Home Economics Department is providing two new courses for the 1975-76 school year? The courses are creative stitchery and single living. Both are one period, one semester, and one-half credit. Creative stitchery offers the student the basic stitches and variations in needlecraft. Single living is designed for students interested in learning the basic principles and basic aspects of independent living.
Did you know the Winter Sports Award Night was held on Tuesday, March 10? Athletes who participated in basketball, wrestling, swimming, and gymnastics were honored. Most valuable players picked by their teammates were announced. Senior players receiving the awards were Glen Heiden, basketball; Brad Bonniver, wrestling; George Erickson, swimming; and Mike Swiatek, gymnastics.

Did you know that the book, Stuff It, was dedicated to Mr. Gaston Freeman. The book, written by Jerry Jenkins, is about the Chicago Bulls' coach, Dick Motta. Mr. Jenkins was a writer for the Suburban Times five years ago.

Did you know that recently Maine West was invited by the Associated Public School Systems of Teachers' College, Columbia University, New York, to participate in a student survey designed to show how students feel about their school. Over 500 Maine West students were chosen at random to participate in the study. "The survey results show that student attitudes toward Maine West are positive," said Mr. James Coburn, Maine West principal.
