Despite Weather . . .
Strong Pitching Trio Carries
Diamondmen Over Lane Tech
Behind strong pitching the Warriors captured their opening game on Tuesday, April 1, at Lane Tech by defeating the Indians by a score of 2-0. This victory puts them off to a good start despite the awful weather.

Bob Earhart '77 pitched for the first two innings and then left to make way for Buddy Doroskin '76. Doroskin picked up the win after four innings of shutout ball. Al Mueller '75 came in to finish up the game for the Warriors.

The Warriors picked up only three hits in the 33‑degree weather. They made use of every one of them. Norm Hillner 15 scored in the first inning as Steve Zuccarini '75 batted him in. The Warriors also scored in the sixth when Mike Kelly '75 came home on a double by Dan Henk '75.
The lineup for the Warriors went as follows: Glen Watson '76 at third base, Hillner at second base, Kelly in center field, Henk at first base, Zuccarini catching, Bernie Corr '76 in left field, Russ Mandell '75 in right field, and Matt Serna '76 at shortstop, besides the three pitchers.

The miserable weather has cancelled the Warriors' games with Notre Dame on April 3 and Oak Park on April 5, and games scheduled against Niles West and Niles East this past week were postponed until a later date.
