Warriors Sweep Doubleheader
Against NTE, Edge Hawks, 5-4
With good pitching and a tough defense, the Warriors ran their winning streak to five games before losing their first game, 3-1, to Niles North. Rob Earhart '77 and Al Mueller '75 pitched for the Warriors against Oak Park as the team won, 5-1. Against New Trier East in a doubleheader on April 12, the

Warriors won the first game, 4-2, with Rich Slapke '75 and Mueller doing the pitching. The Warriors also won the second game, 5-2, with Buddy Doroskin '76 going all the way for the victory.

The Warriors also won against Maine South on April 17, 5-4. South took the lead in the first inning on a two-run line drive home run over the center field fence. The Warriors then fought back and scored four runs. South tied the score at four in the fifth inning before Matt Serna '76 scored the game winner in the sixth. Doroskin pitched the whole game for the victory.
The Warriors suffered their first loss of the season to Niles North on April 22, 3-1. The Warriors left men stranded on third base on two occasions which could have been great opportunities to turn the game around. Mueller did the pitching for the Warriors.

In sophomore action West beat Niles North and Notre Dame, but lost to Maine South. The sophomores lost to the Hawks by a score of 6-5, with Steve Van Vleck '77 doing the pitching. They came back in their next game, defeating Niles North by a score of 9-2. Tim Platek '77 and Bob Zuccarini '77 both hit home runs in the contest, and Glen Rolo '77 did the pitching.

The next varsity baseball game is after school today at Glenbrook North. The sophomores are home today, also playing Glenbrook.
