The school year is almost over, and I am happy to join all my friends at Maine West in this final benediction of the 1974-75 year. It has been a sweet harvest of the work of numerous, tireless volunteers. The students knew they had a big stake in Maine West, but they also wanted Maine West in turn to realize that the school had an equally big stake in them.
Homecoming was by far the best that Maine West has ever had. The parade, with all of the beautifully decorated floats, proceeded on schedule. The football game was the highlight of the week with Maine West defeating Deerfield. Old and new friends met at the victory dance that followed the game.
The Variety Show involved many students from the lighting crew to the directing and acting in the various productions. It was a bargain for the paid customer and proved again that with singleness of purpose, coupled with dedication, the desired goal can be achieved.
"Pat and Todd" made their debut on Maine West's public intercom system. The curiosity of everyone became alive with this energetic dialogue. Such creativity definitely should be applauded.

All of the dances, plays, concerts and shows produced by Student Council, the Thespians, Drama and Music Departments were major successes at the school; and I take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for the tremendous support for all of the projects of 1974‑75.
The Senior Class of 1975 is super colossal. Our minds are disciplined, and our interests are diverse. We have endeavored to strike the word "apathy" from our vocabulary and our direction. Many goals have been achieved, and I am certain that the future leaders at Maine West will pick up the ball and carry on the necessary task. The changes made at Maine West with a straightforward approach have, in my opinion, benefited everyone. Our rights, coupled with responsibilities, have been fulfilled.
My final wish is that God grant each one of us the wisdom to cherish our years at Maine West and the deeper conviction to meet the great and varied challenges that beckon us in the future.
