Ellen Vana has been elected Outstanding Senior Sportswoman of 1974-75 by all of the girls' sports team coaches. She was co-captain of the varsity gymnastics team and performed in the gymnastics show.
Ellen placed sixth in the conference in three out of her four years with her floor exercise. She was also a cheerleader for three years.
She said the highlights of her years at Maine West were the gymnastics team and her coaches, whom she said were more than just coaches to her. "They were my friends."
Kathy Dueball was named runner-up in the competition for the award of Outstanding Senior Sportswomen of 1974-75. Coaches of all the girls' sports teams chose Kathy on the basis of attitude, loyalty, team effort, and skill.
Kathy was captain of the varsity fencing team and was named Most Valuable Player of this year's team. She was also captain of the archery team. She has played both of these sports during all of her four years at Maine West.
Ruth Bernick was chosen as a runner-up for the Outstanding Senior Sportswoman of 1974-75 Award. She has played four different sports in her years at Maine West.
Ruth was named Most Valuable Senior Player of this year's girls' basketball team. She was also chosen as Most Improved Senior Player and was captain of this year's team.
