Get Involved, Join a Club
Maine West has much to offer at an academic level, but it also has a lot to offer in extra curricular activities. Involvement in club activities may be an important step to a high school student's attitude towards school. Students who are involved in clubs are a part of Maine West. These students are the ones who are aware of events happening at school.
Interests vary greatly from person to person which is one of the reasons Maine West has such a variety of clubs. A person who is academically inclined can join a club that has to do with academics such as Science Club or Math Club. For those who like sports these are a always teams to join and intramurals. Maine West also has public service clubs such as U & U Society and Key Club.
Students can expand their interests and express themselves by joining clubs. A person can develop more as a person by joining clubs. At Maine West there are dance clubs, acting clubs, swimming clubs, and just about any type of club you could name.
There is more to high school than just a nine period day. Club meetings are held on Thursday and Friday mornings which is convenient for the students who are on the work program or have early dismissal. Everyone has the opportunity to join a club.
