English Department Offers New Curriculum

The Maine West English Department will offer a new, semester-length elective program for those who will be juniors in the 1975-76 school year. Students can register for English III for the whole year as before or choose semester-length options from a list of electives. All courses will give the student experience in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. With this introduction of semester-length electives, the Maine West English Department hopes to better meet the needs and interests of the students.

Choraliers Selected

Maine West's vocal elite, the Choraliers, a highly selective choral ensemble from the Maine West Concert Choir, have been chosen. Their repertoire includes all types of music; and they perform 25 to 30 times per year for schools, churches, and community organizations. Past performances include appearances at the Regency Hyatt House, the downtown Northwestern Railroad station, and at the Illinois Music Educators' Association in Peoria, Illinois.
WMTH's Executive Board Chosen

WMTH's executive board has been chosen. Broadcasting daily at 88.5 FM, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the station offers a wide variety of programming including news, sports, "Current Comment," recipes, and types of music. Unique among the programs is "Swap Shop." This program is the market place of Maine West where students and the public can sell or trade items.

'Legend' on Sale

Legend sales were held this week, Monday through Friday, during all lunch periods. Legends cost $6 paid in full now, or $3.50 paid now and $3 paid in the spring. Students who want Legends are urged to buy them now since they will not be sold this coming spring.

Quarter Ends Today

November 8 will mark the last day of the quarter. This day is of particular interest to all students since it means students can start working for semester grades or raising their average.
