The Ski Club is now making plans for the biggest year of skiing here at Maine West. The schedule has been lengthened to offer students a wide variety of skiing at several midwest resorts. Weekend, as well as Friday night trips, have been added. The student response to the club this year has been large, but the membership is unlimited and open to anyone who wants to learn to ski. Even beginners are taught everything they need to know about skiing by the staff. Membership is $4 before Sunday, December 1, or $5 after the deadline. The sponsors, Mr. Wayne Ambrose, Mr. Anton Soucek, and Mr. Roger Osborne, will supply the necessary forms and instructions on trip procedures at one of the meetings. Ski Club offers rates much below normal cost and is the best way to get started in the exciting sport of skiing.
Pep Club sponsor, Mr. John Carle, has started planning activities to raise money for the improvement of the sports program. The Pep Club operates half of the concession stand during the basketball season and has an annual candy sale to help raise money. The club sponsors free bus rides to away sporting events and makes the posters that announce Warrior sporting events. In the past there has been a membership fee to join, but this year the club is open to anyone and meets during homeroom on Friday.
