Ushers and Usherettes,
Key Club Merit Notice
By LORRIE SWANSON

Did you ever wonder who that nice, smiling person was who helped you find your seat in the auditorium during Act I of V Show last year? If you haven't, then perhaps it's time you noticed the services of U & U Society, sponsored by Mrs. Joan Plock.

"U & U stands for Ushers and Usherettes," explains vice‑president, Alan Snopek '75. Alan has been a member of U & U since his sophomore year. "We now have 30 members," says Alan, "and we need more guys." Alan is one of four boys in U & U Society.

U & U Society has been in existence for five years and was founded by Mrs. Joan Plock. If needed, U & U will be happy to serve any group that requires its services. Besides ushering plays, U & U works with the dances, school functions, open house, the Senior Dessert, and the PTC parties.

This year's U & U Society's other officers are Mary Mrozek '77, president; and Joanne DiMaggio '76, secretary. U & U Society meets in the auditorium every other Thursday. To join, simply ask Mrs. Plock or any other U & U member for details. Their motto is "Politeness."
Another service organization that you see working diligently at the plays is Key Club. Key Club is affiliated with Kiwanis and not only serves on school projects but community ones as well.

The Key Club runs coat checks for all the plays, concerts, dances, etc., and also runs "The Path" during the lunch periods. If you are missing something that just happened to "get up and walk away," The Path is the place to check for wayward books.

Bill Link '75, also paper editor of the Maine West Key Club, explained some of the upcoming projects. "Next week, November 17-23, is International Key Club week. In accordance with the occasion, our new school project will be a cannedfood drive for the Chicago Chapter of American Indians," said Bill. "We would like to see a lot of people support us in our goals."

Key Club officers for 1974-75 are Ken Bruderle '75, president; Jeff Dennis '75, vice-president; Bill Lindberg '76, secretary; and Tom Perger '75, treasurer.

When you spend an enjoyable evening at a dance or some other Maine West activity, try to acknowledge the efficiency supplied by the U & U Society and the Key Club.
