During the week of December 2-6 all freshman, sophomore, and junior students will be asked to indicate which courses they wish to take for the 1975-76 school year. Department chairmen will be at tables outside the cafeteria from November 25-27 to give information about the different courses.

Music Booster Membership Cards on Sale

Membership cards for the Maine West Music Boosters are now available for $4. They can be obtained by calling Mr. Norman Hostetler, vice president and membership chairman of the Music Boosters. They are sold at the door before each musical performance. With a membership card, the bearer and his family are entitled to free admission to all concerts at Maine West during the year. The Music Boosters are made up of parents and friends of the music students and provide financial support for all of the school's musical organizations.

First String Recital Held

The Maine West Music Department presented a String Orchestra Recital on Thursday, November 21. This was the first string orchestra concert ever held at Maine West. The program featured Mr. Ted Swiderski, a student teacher from Northern Illinois University, as a soloist and guest conductor.
General Talks on Aviation

On Monday, November 18, Major General P. Lewis, National Chief of the United States Air Force Reserve from Washington, D.C., came to speak to students. General Lewis, who is one of the nation's highest ranking and foremost authorities on aviation, spoke about aviation and related topics in the auditorium.

Northeast District of Student Council Holds Convention

The Northeast District of the Illinois Association of Student Councils elected Tina Voelker '76 treasurer at the annual convention held at Lyons Township High School in La Grange. The 460 Delegates from 38 schools selected Tina from a field of three candidates. Representing Maine West at the convention were Jeff Dennis '75, Patricia Coca '76, Peter Jung '75, Jo Brown '77, Mike Bronke '75, Tina Voelker '76, and their adviser, Ms. Kathryn Mularkey.
