Student Togetherness
Develops Into Smash
Throughout the history of Maine West, V‑Show has always been a successful event. V‑Show by definition means a variety show. It gives the students a chance to display the talents that are hidden within themselves. V‑Show is organized and directed totally by students. The staff is composed of all students with a few faculty supervisors.
This year's V‑Show directors, Lorrie Swanson '75 and Bruce Costagli '75, did an excellent job of putting together the show. By using their imagination and creativity, Lorrie and Bruce were able to develop the acts to their fullest. Mr. Bruce Nelson, faculty director, was helpful in advising the student directors and was at their aid at all times.
All the crews were organized and headed by students. Costumes, lighting, make‑up, props, stage crew, and publicity were all put together by the student staff. Even the band had its own student music directors. The choreographers did a great job in arranging the dances.

V‑Show overall was very fresh and original. The dances were designed with much variety. This year there were three acts devoted to Maine West. V‑Show actually promotes the school; therefore, the students and the faculty should get involved. The number of cast members this year was not as great as it has been in the past.
Lorrie said this about V‑Show, "It was a difficult show to do, but I thought it came out great. We had a great cast and crew, and they did an excellent job."
V‑Show is a school production in which everyone can get involved. V‑Show also reflects the fact that students can accept responsibility and see that things get done.
