VOL. XVI, NO. 4
Work With Custodians;
Keep Our School Clean
What would Maine West do without its custodians? Not many people realize all of the hard work that the custodians do in keeping this school clean! At Maine West there are approximately 31 custodians and two matrons.
The custodians work in three shifts. The first shift begins at 7:30 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. During this time the men on the job do strictly maintenance work and take care of any problems that arise.
The second shift, beginning at 2:30 p.m., mainly takes care of cleaning and sweeping the classrooms. This shift ends at 11 p.m.
All the men working during the third shift take care of the gyms, locker rooms, spectator gym, and the auditorium. This shift runs from 11 p.m. to 7:30 am. Cleaning up at Maine West is a lot of work, and those students who insist on breaking things and causing trouble are no help at all.

Another custodian, Mr. John Witt, said that he believes 5A lunch period is the dirtiest and 6A lunch period is the cleanest.
