Speech Team Does Well
The Maine West Speech and Debate Team coached by Mr. Ron Mills scored very well in their first two meets of the season. Individual championships were achieved by Scott Peckenpaugh '76 and Mary Jo Zalabak '76. Debaters Joe Lawler '75 and Lap Tsang '76 accumulated a record of three wins and one loss.
In the November 16 meet at Wheeling High School, Linda Hillstrom '75 and Kerry Skora '78 both won 12 points which accounted for the team placing eighth out of 36.
The team attended the Illinois State University Debate and Individual Events Tournaments November 22-23, sponsored by the ISU Forensic Union and Department of Information Sciences.
Christmas Cards for Sale
This is the week for all to buy the originally designed Art Club Christmas cards. There is a whole variety of styles to choose from, and they can be found on sale in the main office.

Film Festival Cancelled
The District 207 Film Festival scheduled to be held at Maine West, December 7, 1974, was cancelled. Students are encouraged to work on films suitable for submission next year.
Card Delivery Continues
There is still time to send out all of your Christmas greetings. Cards are being sent through the free Student Council delivery service. If you wish to send a card to a favorite teacher, friend, or sweetheart, just bring your cards addressed with name and homeroom number and wing to the Student Council office by December 18.
