West Grapplers Roll Over
Prospect, 53-2
Maine West's wrestling team has had a fine start, winning its first three meets in an impressive fashion. On Saturday, November 23, West beat Wheeling, 32-15, followed up by defeats of Prospect, 53-2, and Oak Park, 30-14.

Winners in the Wheeling meet were Bryan Real '75, Mike Tramel '76, Louie DePasquale '76, Brad Bonnivier '75, Warren Kelleher '75, Dan Cavazos '76, Tom Krauser '77, and Roger Herrera '75.

Only four Warriors lost in the opening meet - Rob Krusinski '76, Ralph Rolape '75, Dave Dziagwa '75, and Don Miske '76. In the utter rout of the Prospect Knights all of the above mentioned Warriors won except Kelleher, who tied his opponent.

The Westmen had a tougher time of it on December 6 against the Oak Park Huskies. Four grapplers lost but none of them were pinned.
Winning for West were Rich Gauger '77, Krusinski, Real, Tramel, Bonnivier, Cavazos, and Herrera. DePasquale, Kelleher, Rolape, and Miske lost while Dziagwa tied. Real pinned his opponent.

On the junior varsity level West has had only two meets and won both, 48-24 over Wheeling and 44-15 against Oak Park. Winning both of their matches for this JV squad are Dan BarAnger '76, Phil Lambrechts '75, and Todd Salerno '75. Barringer and Salerno both pinned their opponents.

West sophomores lost their meet against Wheeling, 36-27. Winning in the close competition were Gary Krusinski '77, John Myatt '77, Scott Finnander '77, Dave Cavazos '78, and Rick Dunn '77. All of the above but Dunn won on pins.

Freshmen have a record of 2-1 as they defeated Prospect, 40-22, and Oak Park, 44-20, but lost to Wheeling, 40-22. Big performers on this squad so far have been Humberto Suarez '78, Tom Frazier '78, Don Arrigo '78, Abel Ayala '78, and Dave Robinson '78.
