Improvement is the key word for the Warrior gymnastic team's season thus far. A superior effort against Glenbrook North and Maine South made up for a poor showing against Addison Trails.
They fell to Addison Trails by a score of 94-78. The faltering in their routines was mainly responsible for their low scores. Highlights were few and far between, but the. Warriors did take first place in the floor exercise, in which Pat Dent '76 scored a 6.7, and first place on the rings was taken by Jim Coburn '75. He also scored a 6.45 on the floor exercise.
The Warriors lost to Glenbrook North on December 6 at Maine West by a score of 101.15 to 88.39, yet they showed considerable improvement. Jim Coburn tied for first place on the rings; Pat Dent took first with an 8.05 in the floor exercise. Neil Sosdian '75 won the sidehorse competition with a 6.2. These were the only high scorers, though.
On December 7 at Maine South the Warriors put on their best showing of the year against a strong Maine South team, losing 109.46 to 91.12. The Warriors had first place finishes from Pat Dent on the floor exercise with a 7.35 and Neil Sosdian's 6.85 on the sidehorse. Jim Coburn placed second on the rings with a 6.9, and Bill Davis '75 placed third on the parallel bars with a 6.2.
The gymnastic team has gone from a score of 78 to a 91 over a four day period, showing considerable improvement over this time.
