The Petrified Forest
Completes Preparations
The Petrified Forest is ready for its first performance next Thursday evening. There will also be shows Friday and Saturday. The curtain opens at 8 p.m. in the auditorium.

Tickets are now on sale in the bookstore for $2. Approximately 250 tickets will be sold for each performance.

The play will be performed in the intimate style of theatre, which is becoming the popular format for modern theatre goers. This style has a small audience seated very close to the players.

Everyone will find something interesting in The Petrified Forest. "The germs of the philosophy of ecology and women's liberation underlie the story," said Mr. Ronald Mills, faculty director.
The play revolves around a young girl, Gabrielle, two men vying for her love, and gangsters interrupting her passion and taking everyone hostage. The play is done in what Mr. Mills refers to as "the 'Bonnie and Clyde' style."

The gangsters are played by George Gatsis '76, Sandy Sadler '75, and Bruce Weaver '77. Julie Stoneburner '78 plays the part of a radio voice, and Mark Shekerjian '76 will play the American Legion commander.

Student director Pam Metz '77 and stage manager Dave Hanson '76 have been working diligently during the past five weeks to put together a strong show. Janet Seitz '76 is proper ties chairwoman, and costume chief is Mary Jo Zalabak '76.
