Non‑Smoker's Week Commences Today
January 11 starts the beginning of National Education Week on Smoking. This week is also going to be observed at Maine West. Student Council secretary, Sandy Sadler, has been working on the coming events for next week since October.

Posters will be displayed throughout the cafeteria for the purpose of spreading the word about the hazards of smoking. On Thursday, January 16, first period will be devoted to an assembly for all freshman.
Also on this day Mr. Aaron Spritzer will give short talks in L-101 from second to ninth periods. Everyone is welcome to come in and listen. Friday, January 17, is going to be No Smoking Day. All faculty and students are asked to refrain from smoking on this day.

All non‑smokers have their rights; on January 17 for one day their rights will be carried out. Not only will Friday show how much consideration people have for others, but it will also show how the students and faculty can work together.
