Gymnasts Carry Record Of 4‑1
The girls' gymnastics team nears the end of its season with a record of four and one with four meets left. The fencers compete against Arlington and Schaumburg as their season comes to an end.

The girls' gymnastics team is young and inexperienced, though they achieved a record of four and one. Their inexperience won't stop them from striving harder to overpower Niles West in their next meet. On December 18 the team lost to Maine South with top scores in floor exercise with Jill Heiden '77 achieving an 8.0 and Ellen Vana '75 completing a 7.95.

Vaulters held the team standing with scores from Else Lopez '77, earning a 6.1, Ellen Vana with a 6.3, and Reggi Nero '78 completing a 6.2. Jill Heiden was awarded a 6.2 and Dotti Gallucci '76 completed a 6.1 with honor.
The team has started practicing for its optional meets, which will be coming up soon. The girls have just started to put together routines based on their own skills and technique.

The fencers are nearing their closing meet on January 14 against Arlington. The triangular meet will consist of the fencers from three schools, Maine West, Schaumburg, and Arlington.

With the records from last year's team and this year's participants, the team should end up on top against the two opposing schools.
