Career Cinema Gets Started In Center
The Career Cinema (located in the Career Resource Center) has begun showing films January 16 at the beginning of each half period. The films contain information relating to choosing, preparing for, or becoming knowledgeable about careers.
Students can see these films during any free period. A pass or reservations are not needed.
Mr. James Killam, head of the Career Cinema, stated, "I feel the Career Cinema can be of great importance in helping the students discover different fields and finding information. It is especially good because the cinema is open whenever the students are free."
The films have already started, but they will be shown until June 5. The dates and titles of the films are as follows: February 3, 4, 5, "Career in Mathematics": 10, 11, "Matching It in a World of Work"; 18, 19, "Jobs in Drafting"; 24, 25, "It's Your Future"; 26, 27, "Construction."
On March 3, 4, "Opportunities in Machine Trades"; 5, 6, "Opportunities in Welding"; 10, 11, "The Blue Collar Trap (Part I)"; 12, 13, "The Blue Collar Trap (Part II)"; 17, 18, "Jobs in the Sheet Metal Trades"; 19, 20, "Business Machine Opportunities."
Also March 30 and April 1, "Hospital Careers"; 7, 8, "Jobs in the Automotive Trades"; 9, 10, "Jobs in Small and Major Electrical Appliance Repair"; 14, 15, "Your Job: Fitting In"; 21, 22, "Getting a Promotion"; 28, 29, "Your Job Applying for It.''
The last include April 30, and May 1, "Jobs in Cosmetology"; 5, 6, "Job Opportunities in Hotels and Motels"; 12, 13, "Your Job: Good Work Habits"; 14, 15, "Cooks, Chefs, and Related Occupations"; 19, 20, "Opportunities in Sales and Merchandising"; 26, 27, "Your Job: You and Your Boss"; June 2, 3, "Applying for a Job"; 4, 5, "General Services."
Any student who is interested in seeing a special film, may go to the Personnel Office and see Mr. Killam.
