VOL. XVI, NO. 7
JANUARY 31, 1975
Tankmen Dunk Niles W.
The tankers now have a win-loss record of 7-4. Swimming against Niles West on January 10, the tankers won, 125-46, and on January 17 the tankers trounced Niles East, 86-46.

Coach Darrell Green commented, "These seemingly unimportant meets assure West of a winning season. The seniors on the team will be leaving West with a winning season after their last three seasons having been losing ones."

The tankers lost to powerful Arlington (101-66) on January 18. The only first place was swum by Dave Gafrick '76 in the 100 free.

The tankers swam against Maine South on January 24, losing, 92-80. Coach Green stated "Even though we lost, we gave South a scare. The meet came down to the last relay, which South won. The varsity swam really well, getting many best times."
The only first places were swum by Tom Ptach '77 in the 200 and 500 free styles and the medley relay consisting of George Ericksen '75, Nick Mencinger '75, Dave Gafrick '76, and Casey Schlachter '76. Ptach's 200, a 1:52.7, broke his old sophomore record and bettered the state qualifying time; and his 500, a 5:06.5, broke the old sophomore, pool, and school records.

The junior varsity squad won against Niles West, by forfeit, Niles East (104-46), and Maine South (108-49). This makes the junior varsity win-loss record 10-1.
